Outbound HTTPS not working

    Hi,

    I have installed wordpress on 1and1 hosting website.

    I tried to install two plugins after that – JetPack and Akismet. After installation I am unable to setup both the plugins and for JetPack I get the following error. I get a similar error on Akismet as well. I checked with my hosting company and they said this is not something to do with the hosting and I should check with WordPress. Can you shed any light please?

    Hi Chaitanya

    You are running a stand alone WordPress installation for the site and that is quite different from the managed environment that we use here at WordPress.com.
