Outbound links
-
Hi guys, i want to add a page/post with a list of links from my research (NOTE: I don’t want to use blogroll as the list is long and would not suit the template). Is there any way of setting the outbound links to open in a new window/tab globally, so that I don’t have to edit every link on that page/post (I have quite a few links and the list will get longer). I noticed that the wordpress.org had a widget you can download and import that takes care of it automatically, is there anything similar for the .com version I am currently running? Any help/suggestions much appreciated. Regards, chris valenti

Hi there,
In order to create a Page/Post with a list of links that opens in a new tab, you will have to do that manually. It sounds as if you know how to create this type of link, but I thought I’d attach these directions, just in case:

Also, you can create new links with your desired attribute in the text editor instead of the visual editor.
HTML links that open in the same tab look like this:
HTML links that open in a new window can be edited to look like this:
You can use that bottom code as a template to paste in your Post editor and edit as you need.
The plugin you mentioned in your email can only be used in WordPress.org. Plugins cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much.
