outbrowsed?

    hi guys. so it seems you’ve outbrowsed me :( i can’t access my blogs anymore (or hardly). there’s been a speed issue for a while now. there seems to be data caching and caching from whatever optimizely.com or other similar websites. in the end, i’m left just clicking buttons and then go for a coffee to hopefully have something on my display … what is displayed then are icons that can’t let me access my widgets anymore (have cleared the cache as you suggested above), or not even that, looping attempts to access anything except those log. 33300589i3547.blabla showing at the botto of the window.

    i understand that you needed to improve constantly (in a way) and the overall look you’ve achieved (i think i’ve told you a while ago) is really beautiful. can it be any better than it already was about three years ago?

    but the speed issue is devastating for me. i’m considering other options although i really am part of wordpress and always, from the early days on, have been a ‘happy camper’ as you’ve already called it back then.

    how amazing it was in the beginning, wasn’t it? the purity of code =) sure there’s also a part of you that looks back to the good old days of grassroot scripting and unfettered speed, unblocked pipes.

    what to do?

    ps: happily running mac 10.4.11 and my firefox 3.0.15 on my ibook G4 – all top stuff.

  • Hi Reinhard – I’m not certain exactly what you’re describing. It seems you have very slow loading on your sites, and sometimes your widgets don’t fully load, is that correct?

    You mention using Firefox 3.0.15 – can you please make sure you’ve updated to the most recent version of Firefox (which is version 24): http://browsehappy.com/

    If you still have these problems, please let me know. The more specific you can be about exactly what is happening on your end, the better I can help troubleshoot this.

    hello eurello :) thanks a lot for getting back to me.

    well, i’ve found a way to at least see things again by using camino. (nice little browser, by the way). firefox is finished for motorola processors and mac tiger (a disgrace, i find …)

    the speed issue. well, don’t know what to say. it’s nightmarish but will have to live with it for the time being and trying to be online at least as possible while whenever i am try to find faster connections at the very least …

  • Hi Reinhard – You’re very welcome. I’m glad you found a browser that works better for you. You can do a speed test for your internet connection here:
    http://www.speedtest.net/

    That would let you know if a slow connection is the issue, or something else.
