Outdated Domains

Hi! There is a domain name currently taken that I would really like to use, and there is no contact information for the blog admin. The blog itself is empty, both created and abandoned in 2006. How can I contact them or contact wordpress about the issue?

Are you asking about a free site hosted here with a .wordpress.com suffix? Sites hosted here, even apparently abandoned ones belong to the creator of the site indefinitely/till the end of time. Staff wouldn’t under any circumstances give the domain to someone else because they preferred that address. It’s a long shot (people change email addresses so often these days) but if there is a contact form or comment boxes then you could leave a message for the site owner asking them if they’d be prepared to transfer the site to your account.
PS: Perhaps it would be easier for you to start a new site with a similar address but ending in one of the 28 free new subdomains.
