outside publicity??

It is very difficult to define this problem.
yesterday (june 24th) I check my stat and had a look at the clics there was one link I did not know of (http://cdn.displayincloud.com/advertig/scripts/direct/direct.html?a=25201006&size=800×600&ci=1&serverdomain=ads.displayincloud.com&Source_URL=http%3A%2F%2Frefusermutuelle.com%2F)

I click this link to see where it went, and it launch the download of a file which is strange.

it appear the domain is listed as a possible host for viruses : https://www.virustotal.com/en/domain/cdn.displayincloud.com/information/

how is it possible to have someone that click a linkl from my blog which I did not place?

    Thanks for enlightening me.

    Ju

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey Ju, If the link does not appear anywhere on your blog or in your comments, I suspect that the visitor is having trouble with malware on his/her browser. The malware creates popup ads when a user is visiting at a website, and if he clicks on the link, it appears in your stats as a click-thru.

This isn’t a problem with your blog, it’s a security issue on the visitor’s computer. If you ever hear of this happening to a specific user, you may suggest he looks into cleaning up his browser, and tightening up security.

I hope this helps! Best wishes to you.

Thank you thatrobin for your answer.

    the thing is:
it is not suppoed to appear on the blog, yet it appears in the clic section of WP.com stats. as in the link picture ‘(green rectangle).
How come womeone visiting my blog can clic on a link I did not put in and that look like soe virus type?

If you think this can happens because the visitor is already bugged ok. but why does it appears n my stats?

    Thanks again for your concern:)

    Hi again Ju!

The stats are collected based on where the user clicks, even if it’s based on a popup they’re seeing as a result of malware.

Your stats are registering it as a “click” because a visitor was on your site, clicked, and went to the bad site. Unfortunately, there is no way to ‘explain’ to your stats that this isn’t a real click-through.

As long as the link isn’t being added to your site in a spam comment, your site is in no danger. However, if you notice that bad links are being added to your comments, please let us know and mark those comments as spam immediately.

    Thanks so much!
