outside themes?

    Can I use a theme I purchased elsewhere? I bought Tripod from Theme Forest last May, for another self-hosted wordpress site (michelekendzie.com) which I’m considering shutting down. But, regretting that I spent the $45 on the theme only to use it for a few months, I’m wondering if I could use it on a free WordPress.com blog?

    Hi there,

    Themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com, so you can’t use a theme purchased elsewhere. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org. You can find out more about customizing your blog’s appearance here: Uploading Custom Themes

    On WordPress.com you can choose from over 200 themes, both free themes and premium themes created by leading theme companies. You can view all of our themes in our theme showcase and filter them by specific criteria under “Find a Theme.”
