outta the blue problem with IE browsers seeing my template

  • Unknown's avatar

CSS customization on Benevolence template went swimmingly, all browsers could see things fine (I asked for feedback from all).

suddenly all IE people are telling me there’s a giant white space and my first post is halfway down the page…

anyone mind taking a look and see if I inadvertently missed some margin somewhere?

or perhaps the IE bugs are at work..

    many thanks in advance,

me again: wondering if changing posts per page messed up IE caches? changed it from 8 to 6 yesterday, today went back to 8. don’t know if there is any difference yet in IE –

Just a guess, I would say that it’s the width of the images on the latest post. They look too wide and will cause this problem if they are. Try putting it into draft and see if that fixes it. If it does then you need to change the (landscape style) images in that post.

You might want to get overflow: hidden on your content CSS. That *should* stop it. If this makes no sense let me know.

hmmmm, not sure if i fixed it. it all looks fine to me. guess I’ll await another IE complaint?

made the images less wide, not sure what else to do. still figuring out CSS and difference between “post” “content” “inside wrapper” “wrapper”

gah! guess it takes a while.

I have food waiting, but very quickly, try putting the overflow: hidden on #content rather than #post.

    /me shrugs.

Still dropping and I can’t pull up the CSS file from here to see what’s going on.

I went in and looked at the individual posts to see if maybe it was a specific picture within a specific post that’s causing the issue but it’s dropping on all of them.

I’d try knocking off 50 pixels off of the post/ content/ whatever it’s called width and see if that helps.

okay I think i fixed it – just increased my post width (cause egads – can’t post smaller photos! ; )

will do the overflow:hidden – thanks for the tip.

so appreciate the prompt help in my time of need…
