Over 300K hits but no one is directed to my blog

I posted a video link from URL into my post, shared it on FB & Twitter. My stats are crazy – over 300K just today, BUT, the video is playing right on the FB pages, people who click are not being sent to my blog to watch. I’ve never had this happen before . . . Did I post it wrong? The one time something I share goes nuts & no one even even gets to check out the rest of my blog! :(

A Mother’s Day Funny that keeps on giving! Blogging confuses me sometimes.
When I share this post to Facebook, it does indeed show the video embedded versus a link back to your article:
This is due to how Facebook is interpreting the post content. Since the post starts with a video and has no other images, Facebook assumes the post is a video and displays the video inline.
You can contrast this with the following post:

Since the post has an image and additional text (and the video is at the bottom), Facebook displays it differently.
Unfortunately, there isn’t an easy way to control how Facebook displays your posts. This is controlled on the Facebook side, not on the WordPress.com side. Facebook picks the format it feels will be best. In the case of your first post, posting additional text before the video and inserting an image should help though!
