Over-posting on Facebook Page
-
I want WordPress to post on my Facebook wall AND to my Twitter account every time I publish a new post. However, it seems that WordPress is posting TWO links on my Facebook page every time I post ONE in WordPress: ONE with a WordPress url and ONE with a Twitter url. This makes for too many posts on my Facebook page. How do I maintain WordPress’s connection to both Facebook and Twitter without this happening? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

HI Josh, I see that you removed the Twitter connection. The next time you create a post, could you check if removing it fixed the issue?
If it did, could you then try reconnecting it and posting again, and checking if it still happens? If it does, please take a screenshot of your Facebook page and write down the exact URLs that are being linked to, since that might give me clues as to what is going wrong.
If disconnecting Twitter did not fix the issue, then it’s possible that another service is making the duplicate post, so your Facebook and Twitter apps to make sure there isn’t something else in the loop.

Thanks for your help! 2 things:
1) It did still post on my FB page and I accidentally deleted the post before I could take a screenshot of it.
2) Afterwards, I went to Twitter and saw that Twitter was still connected to WordPress, so I disconnected it.
Now I just have to wait until I make another post to see if it worked.

Even after I disconnected WordPress on the Twitter end, that Twitter post was still showing up in Facebook. Here’s the link it gave: http://t.co/J1KFTcjUDt . I have a screen shot, but I don’t know how to upload it here. Does this have anything to do with the “Make this connection available to all users of this blog” option? There are no other humanoid users. Or maybe it’s because WordPress was also linked to Tumblr and LinkedIn?

Hi Josh, can you upload the screenshot to your Media Library? Hopefully that will have some clues to what’s going on.
The fact that the second post is being created even with the Twitter service disconnected makes me think that maybe there’s another service or app that is setup to post to your Facebook page. Can you check for any other connections with other apps/services that may have setup?

OK, screenshot is uploaded. I think I might have found where there was still a link to Twitter on Facebook’s end which I turned off.

Great! Now that you’ve disabled it, you should be able to post again and there will only be a single post on your wall. After that, you can re-enable the Twitter connection at WordPress, and new posts should be sent to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.
