Overlapping Elements?

    I am using a cover block to provide an alternate background on my page as you scroll but I have an image of a banner I would like to display partially overlapping with the upper edge of the cover block. Does anyone know how I can achieve this with code rather than a plugin?

    You can do this by giving the banner picture a z-index number that is higher than that of the cover block. This will make sure that the banner picture is always on top of the cover block and partly overlaps the top edge.
