Hi there,
I am hoping you can help me figure out. Why my readers that are other bloggers are directed to my homepage instead of a overview of the blog?
I’m not sure I understand your question. When I visit your site homepage at https://upwardonwards.wordpress.com/ it seems that the page I land on (what is set as your “homepage” in your site settings” is your About page, and it has a short message about you but nothing else.
I can also confirm when I look here: https://wordpress.com/pages/upwardonwards.wordpress.com
You can see that you have only two pages, About and Blog, and About is set as your homepage:
How is it that you are aware your readers are landing on another page? And do you know where they are landing from? i.e. are the clicking a link you shared on social media or some other link to your site?
Thanks for the additional info!

The message I received is that my username doesn’t take them to my (wordpress-reader-proof) blog overview.

Hello there,
Are you looking for your audience to go to: https://upwardonwards.wordpress.com/blog/ first when they visit the site?
If yes, this can be configured via Design > Customize > Homepage Settings > select > Latest Posts.
I hope this helps.
