Overwhelmed beginner

Help! I have a blog site at jfjansen.com and I am simply trying to move the Comments/Leave a Reply button up so it’s at the end of the postings rather than make people scroll and scroll to find it. I was told I need to upgrade to Premium to get CSS, which I did, but I have never used html before and I’m lost. Any tips on pointing me in the right direction to start will be very much appreciated. John
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @jfjansen26
It’s not possible to use CSS to move the position of that element to a different place. To do that would require access to the theme’s source files, which is not possible here.
One thing that I think will help though is to take out some of the whitespace here, which seems to be excessive, and tends to push the comments further down than they need to be.
You can try the following block of code, entered into the CSS tab of your site customizer here: https://wordpress.com/customize
Here is the code to paste in:
#jp-post-flair { padding-top: 0; } .hentry .sharedaddy { margin-top: 0; } .single .hentry { padding-bottom: 0; margin-bottom: 0; } #comments { margin-top: 0; }One other thing I would suggest is removing the Follow Blog widget you have added to the bottom of the page. That also seems to push the comment section farther down on the page, and since it appears in your sidebar anyway, there is no need to show it a second time on the page.
I think those two changes will do a lot to bring the comment section within reach, so there is not such a need to scroll.
Cheers!

Jerry – Thank you for the code – it worked great! But I am unable to delete the Follow Blog via Email widget at the bottom of the the blog entries. I’ve tried deleting it from the WP Admin page, going to Appearances and then Widgets, but it doesn’t even show up there. I must be in the wrong place. Thanks for any suggestions!
John

Ah, that is because that is not being powered by a widget.
When I looked at your source code I can see you are using the Blog Subscription Shortcode:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/
It is in the content of the post itself (at the end) and looks like this:
[blog_subscription_form]Just locate that in your posts, and remove it. That will move your comment section up by quite a bit.
Hope that helps!

Yes, sir, that was the problem. Thanks again! Do you know if it’s possible for me to move the Reply box up to right under the post, or to move the other stuff in between there to the bottom?

Last question: How can I remove this text from the very bottom of the home page (I seem to have done what they’re asking about adding my email address to my Gravatar): You need to pick a user or enter an email address in your Gravatar Widget settings.
Thanks!
John
