Overwrite dreamweaver site
-
I’ve started working with a company who made their website on Dreamweaver, and hosted it through some obscure US branch of godaddy. I really need to fix this site (its putting people off) but can’t/wont use Dreamweaver because its ludicrously over complicated for what we need.
Going on from here, lets assume I’ve never done anything websitey ever before:
When I go to the hosting site, there is no indication the site is hosted with them, (I honestly don’t know how this works, does dreamweaver host the site somewhere?) The domain name is registered on this hosting website, that is all.
What I’d like to do is install WordPress and overwrite the website with what I make using that- is that possible? Can someone give me an idea on how to do it?Thanks.

It sounds like you want to remake the website in WordPress?
Dreamweaver doesn’t host the website, as it’s a tool used to build sites.
Can you post the address of this site, and I can help you figure out where it’s hosted now.
You can build a new site either with WordPress.org or WordPress.com. Here’s the difference between the two: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Here’s how you can point the domain of this site if you build it on WordPress.com – https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Howdy – I’m following up on the Modlook tag. Please let me know what site you are working on and if you have any questions about the differences between setting up a WordPress installation or running on WordPress.com.
