Own a domain, want to transfer it to wordpress.com

  OK, I own the domain jumeauxmedia.com Its hosted by justhost. I want to transfer that domain to wordpress.com, pay to have it hosted there. If I transfer it, which looks like having to change the nameservers- can I drop my old hosting service? I don’t want to double pay for hosting!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can use the domain mapping upgrade to connect your WordPress.com site to your domain name, but WordPress.com does not currently accept incoming domain transfers.

  You can not transfer the domain registration to WordPress.COM – they are not able to accept incoming transfers

  You can map your existing domain name to a blog here

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  That will make WordPress.COM your host – but the domain name will need to stay registered elsewhere

  If you are using email connected with your domain name you have several options for that

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

  Most hosts & Registrars will provide email only hosting at a reduced cost also

  OK, so does that mean I would still need to pay for the hosting from the current hosting company, which is also the one I registered with? I’m confused. Thanks for the help, of course! It sounds like I’d have to pay for the domain registration with justhost, and then drop the hosting there, and pay for the hosting with wordpress’ upgrade. Thank you, thank you!

  As auxclass said, WordPress.com would be your host and your domain registration would remain with the current registrar.

  Hosting on WordPress.com is free. You pay for upgrades, such as domain mapping.

  You need to pay someone for the domain registration – probably your old host – but you only need to pay for the domain registration not the hosting

  If you map your domain name to your blog here – actually the hosting is FREE – but you do pay for the mapping $ 13.– / year

  You don’t need to pay for any type of hosting at your hosting unless you use them for email hosting –
