Own domain and hosting to another site

    Hello! I’m having a wordpress.com blog. About a month ago I bought my own domain at an hosting site, so I went from fantestisch.wordpress.com to fantestisch.nl. But I find that there are very few options in wordpress.com so I want to change it to wordpress.org. If I understand it correctly, I need an own hosting for that. The site that I’m using for my own domain is not the site I want hosting from. So I want to change my own domain to another site AND buy a hosting on that same new web page. How can I do that? The own domaing I bought at that site is for a year.. But I want that url name form another site.. HELP!

    Hi there,

    If you want to set up a self-hosted WordPress site (using the WordPress.org software, rather than hosting the site here at WordPress.com), you can get started following the guide at WordPress.org. You’ll need to find a web host and then download and install WordPress at your new host.

    To use your domain fantestisch.nl with the new site you set up at your new host, you’ll need to change the domain settings to point the domain to that host.

    Please keep in mind that the support staff here at WordPress.com can only help with WordPress.com sites. If you have questions about your new self-hosted WordPress site, you can post in the WordPress.org forums for more help with that.
