Owner of domain in paid plans on WordPress.com

    Hello. I am analyzing whether to pay for the ‘Personal’ plan on WordPress.com or to use WordPress.org using some web hosting service. At the beginning I was almost decided to pay on WordPress.com, but something that makes me think: If I contract the ‘Personal’ plan, who is the owner of my domain name, WordPress.com or myself? Thank you.

    Hi there,

    No matter what plan you have on WordPress.com, you own any and all content on your site, and you are the owner of any domain you register with us. If you buy a domain from us you are of course bound by our terms of service, but you have complete rights to transfer the domain to another owner, or to use your domain with a site not hosted on WordPress.com. It is your property for as long as you keep on renewing it.
