ownership of website

    I had someone build me a website a few years ago. He currently makes all changes on the website. I would like to be able to make some changes myself, and am taking an online class about WordPress so I am able to so confidently. However, the ‘site-maker’ will not give me the password to my site. Do I have a right to the password, or can he keep it from me?

    It likely will hinge on what name the website is registered under and who pays for it. What is the URL of the site? Is it hosted here at WordPress.com?

    If the person you hired will not help you sort it out professionally, you will likely need to talk to a lawyer.
