Ownership to URL

    I currently have a blog under the URL aaronprunning.wordpress.com but I really want the URL aaronrunning.wordpress.com. However, this URL is already taken by someone. They haven’t posted on their blog since 2011. Is there any way I can get this URL?

    If aaronrunning.wordpress.com was created by someone else then I’m afraid you’ve been beaten to your chosen address and will have to settle for something similar. Sites here belong to the creator and aren’t given to others just because the address is desired. I have an old test site unused for a decade but I would be mightily peeved if WordPress.com gave it to someone else just because I haven’t used it very often.
