OK. From the instructions I thought that stickiness was necessary in order to get an the featured slider to work. Then how do I get the feaured slider to post my images on the home page as it shows in the demo?

hi, I’m stuck on how to populate the Recent Articles and More Articles sections on the showcase template. I’ve figure out how to get the images into the carousel but nothing automatically appears as a Recent Article or More Article – like is shown in the demo. Is this because I don’t have enough posts yet to populate that section or is there some place I can’t find where you ID which posts would appear in these sections? thanks for any help!

Good luck. I was never able to get that to work. I have ditched my website and word press because of this.

1) To turn your front into the special showcase page of the theme, you create a blank page, select the showcase template from the pulldown in the Page Attributes module of the page editor, publish the page, then you go to Settings > Reading and set your front to display that page.
2) The (optional) slider is designed to highlight some important posts (up to six). To make a post show in the slider, you mark it as a sticky and you set a suitably sized featured image to it.
When you create or edit a post, the sticky option is found in the Publish module of the post editor if you click “Edit” next to “Publish”. To turn a post into a sticky after you have published it, you go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the post title, click Quick Edit, check the option “Make this post sticky”, click Update.3) The “recent articles” section automatically displays your latest three non-sticky posts; these posts also need to have a featured image. The “more articles” section automatically displays a further group of recent posts; the number of posts it displays is set in Settings > Reading. Naturally, if you haven’t published enough posts, these sections will be empty or under-populated.

Thank you, I see how that works now and I’ve got it all working properly I think. It looks great (to me at least!)

where is the Showcase page template? When I set up a new page I don’t see any option for this in the page attributes/ template section

The only options I saw were “front-page, bookmarks, archives, and full-page”. Can someone please tell me how to get the “showcase” option to appear?

I am also having problems with trying to center my hearder image and the slider to work. I’ve tried all of the instructions and yet nothing works.
