Oxygen theme – Adding an image to category description text

  I am using Oxygen theme, and have created several categories of posts. For the purposes of my site, I have listed these categories as ‘Projects’ (listed under the dropdown ‘Projects’).

  When I have created categories in the past, I have simply written a description and this displays at the top of each ‘Project’ page.

  I would like to create a new page in a similar way, but I need to display an image in the space where the description is, as well as text.

  I’ve tried editing the CSS and I managed to get an image to display there, but I could not work out how to introduce a small amount of spacing between the title of the category and the image, so it didn’t look right.

  Any help with this would be really appreciated! I’m new to CSS so sorry if this is very simple.

  That’s interesting. As far as I know, we don’t get an opportunity to add some static content (text/images) to the category pages because category pages are created by WordPress on the fly.

  Were you using a different theme?

  No, this relates to the category pages on my current theme, Oxygen.

  If you take a look at my site, you’ll see the category description displayed as static text above the posts tagged with that category, for example: http://sustainablesecurity.org/category/militarised-public-security-in-latin-america/

  This should be easy to do. How about you display an image on one of the category pages as you described above and link it here so I can give you the CSS.

  On your “Rethinking the Nuclear Security…” category, I am not seeing a description entered for that category at Posts > Categories. I see descriptions on the other categories pages, but not on that one. Have you tried entering a description there?
