Oxygen Theme: Change background to white?

Hi All,
I’m having trouble with changing the background to white. I originally (in november) set up the oxygen theme with a double white background, but now when I go in to customise colours, there is a (X) in the circle where i would normally choose that colour, and it seems to be permentantly set to a beige colour. In the demo of oxygen it’s all slick white – i don’t understand why the only colour I have to choose from is beige..? I would appreciate some help and I’m hoping its just something im overlooking for now…

You may choose a background color at Customize > Colors & Backgrounds. If you find that you can not select a color here, you might be stuck in the preview. Click on exit preview to get out of that. The two colors that display in the view of your front page when you change from one color to another at Customize are evidently only to show the contrast between the present background color and another color you’ve chosen but not saved. Once you save the change, the second color replaces the first as the website background color, though the two colors still display at Customize.
You may also change the background color at Appearance > Background > Display Options > Background Color.

Hi Suf – did you get this sorted out? Your background looks white, and I’m also seeing a white background selected in the Customizer. Let me know if you still need any help.
