oxygen theme HELP PLEASE

  Hey, so I am trying to set up my wordpress using the Oxygen Theme but having some difficulties in getting it on the go! The main problem is the default page. I have a ‘home’ page, but when you initially go onto my page it just reads ‘OOPS! THAT PAGE CAN’T BE FOUND’.. However when I click on the ‘home’ tab on the primary menu it comes up with the ‘showcase’ page which is what I want as the default page. Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

  Also any help on getting rid of the categories menu on the left hand side would be greatly appreciated.

  1) Settings > Reading: set the blog front to display your showcase page.
  Then Appearance > Menus: remove the Home item you’ve added, click View All in the Pages Module, select the available Home:Home item, click Add to Menu, drag to reposition, save menu.

  2) That’s the “Primary” sidebar of the theme. Appearance > Widgets: add the widgets you prefer to Primary, and the default ones will go.
