Oxygen theme–how do you add a new page/menu item w/o interupting static page?

  • Unknown's avatar

When trying to add a new page using the Oxygen theme, instead of it showing up on the primary menu, it overtakes the scrolling static page. How do I add new pages/menu items to the primary menu without it mucking up what is already set up?

Currently there are placeholders to get to know how the theme works. I have a scrolling static home page and I’m trying to add new menu items–every time I do, they replace the static home page with the new page/menu item.

Do I need to just add all the tabs I think I might want to have on there, then re-make the scrolling homepage?

    thaaaanks.

  • Hi there –

You’ve selected the same page for both your Home page and your Posts page in Settings->Reading here:
    https://welovebryant.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

    That breaks things. :)

If you don’t want there to be any posts page, you can simply choose the blank at the top of that dropdown menu, so you’re not selecting any page.

If you still have trouble after fixing that, let me know!
