Oxygen Theme: How in the world do I activate the slider?

So I just now realized you can tweak the Oxygen theme a bit to look a bit more like a magazine instead of the typical blog, which I completely fell in love with.
However, I’ve tried to follow some of the directions found on the internet to ‘get this slider’ thing to work, but I remain stumped. I created an ‘attribute’ page, and then got lost.

The posts you want in the slider have to be set as sticky posts, and they also have to have a featured image set that is at least 750px wide. See the theme description page for more information: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/ .
