Oxygen theme – showcase page but not front page??

  I’m using the Oxygen theme on wordpress.com with no upgrades (except the domain name).

  I really like the showcase template for displaying recent articles / more articles and being able to use the sidebar widgets.

  However it seems the showcase template is only applied to a static front page.

  Can I apply the template to an ‘inner page’ (I’ve called it news) and have a separate static front page (I’ve called it home).

  Thanks in advance for any advice (even if the answer is no you can’t!)

  As you found out, the answer is yes you can: you simply edit the “News” page and select the showcase template for it.

  Yes managed to resolve the issue but notvtotally straightforward.

  I had to delete the original news page and then create a new news page using the showcase template.

  Now to get on with developing the site again.
