Oxygen theme – Slider/ sticky posts question

I think the short answer to this is, “No, it’s not possible.” But maybe someone can figure a way around it.

Oxygen’s slider uses images from sticky posts. I would like to link to a set of six static posts from the slider: always the same six posts, which will contain important site information.

However, I would also like these posts to disappear gradually from the posts page (“blog”), so that when someone visits the blog page, it’s always the most recent posts that are at the top, and not these sticky posts.

Is there any way this can be done? I guess what I’m asking is, can I “stick” the sticky posts to the bottom of the posts pages rather than the top….?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There really isn’t a way to stick posts to the bottom of the posts page. That would require editing of the theme php script files and we cannot edit those here at WordPress.com.

The only way would be to edit posts as you wish them to disappear from the slider and un-stick them.

Thanks for the answer thesacredpath – as I suspected.

I don’t want these sticky posts to disappear from the slider – I want them to stay displayed on the slider, but gradually disappear from the posts page as more posts appear, so that only the most recent posts show up at the top on the posts page.

I guess I was really trying to find a way around things, and link the slider to posts that would act almost like pseudo-pages. As far as I can tell, the only theme that features a slider that links to pages is STAY, but I’m not sure if that’s the best theme for the job here. I’ll continue to play around with it all.

Thanks much again for the response.
