Oxygen theme – widen main column and get rid of infinite scroll?

Hello,

I’m using oxygen with the customized design upgrade, and would like to edit the CSS to do a couple of things:

1. The front/home page is set to a static page of posts, is there a way to limit the number of posts that show up? (rather than scrolling all the way until the very first post).

2. I would like to make the width of the main body column the same as the width of the “sticky” posts slider (even though I am not using the slider).

Hi, on Oxygen, the size of the feature images is set in the theme to the original size, and there is no way to change that. What you can do is to ask the browser to enlarge the image, but it will result in a loss in quality on the featured images. Give the following a try and see if that work for you. I’ve limited this change to the blog pages only.
```

    margin-right: 0;
}
.blog a.read-more {
    top: 0;
}
.blog .featured-image img {
    width: 100%;
}
```

Thank you, this is the look I am trying to achieve! I would like to do it for all the pages, so that all images and text take up the full 750px available. I don’t understand what you mean by original size though, because the uploaded images are much bigger, and show up with great quality if I use the slider. Is there any way to change the original size from 470px to 750px?

WordPress creates images to use in the featured images on the main page that are the correct size for the original area. When you enlarge those, as we have done, you are enlarging the smaller images that WordPress created for those locations. That is why they have reduced quality.

To increase the content and image size on other pages, change what I had given above to the following (removing .blog and the space after it).

    margin-right: 0;
}
a.read-more {
    top: 0;
}
.featured-image img {
    width: 100%;
}
```

The featured image size used? No, there is not. That is controlled in the underlying theme files, and since we all share the same theme files on WordPress.com, they cannot be modified by users or it would change it for all using that theme.
