Oxygen Theme WordPress Website won't even load on IE9?
-
My Site/Blog won’t load in IE9 at all (I’m using windows vista).
I use the Oxygen theme and it works fine in Google chrome and Firefox.
Here’s a URL link to my site: http://www.thethinkingblogger.wordpress.com
Any idea what has gone on? I’ve tried everything I know of
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was able to display your site fine in IE9, both in Windows XP and Windows 7 on Browserstack, which doesn’t provide a Vista testing environment as it’s almost identical to Windows 7.
Could you provide a screeenshot of what you see when you try to load https://thethinkingblogger.wordpress.com/ in IE9? (Note that there is no “www” as part of the URL.)
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot – in a graphic format like JPG, PNG, or PDF – in your Media Library so I can see it. Thanks.

Hi thank you so much for responding!
Apologies for the “www” bit, even when I still insert it I get the same result.
Also I have attached 2 screenshots in Jpeg format:
Screenshot 1 – This is what I see when trying to view my site via IE9
Screenshot 2 – This is what Happens when I click on Diagnose
After I click on ‘Close’ I’m left with same screen.

Thanks for the screenshots. Both screenshots show the URL with “www” in the address bar. Could you please try loading the site again without the www, as I mentioned before?
Paste this URL directly into the browser’s address bar:
https://thethinkingblogger.wordpress.com/
Could you also please try these two demo sites in IE9 and let me know what happens:
-
Also one thing to note is that the URLs should start with https:// – not http://
Let me know how it goes!
-
Thanks got that.
I tried the URL & both themes URL’s, and I get the same outcome everytime.

It sounds like something pretty major is going on in IE9. :)
For comparison, are you able to load Google? http://google.com/
-
Could you check whether IE9 is set to work in Offline mode, and disable that mode if it is?
-
Google does load thankfully.
By default, IE work offline is disabled. also, when I click on the Microsoft link I get a message saying the following:
The Work Offline option in Internet Explorer is unexpectedly enabled on a Windows XP-based computer
strange, considering I have windows vista.

Since the issue seems to be something specific to your IE9 setup, could you use Chrome or Firefox instead on that machine?
