P2 Customization

Add topic to favorites
Hello,

So far I managed to customize the P2 theme to my needs, but here are two things I would like to achieve:

1) Hide “Such, Such, and one other person are discussing…” leaving only “Toggle Comments” on the bottom on the post

2) Change the width of the sidebar without messing up the rest of the theme.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I tried to solve the item 2 by increasing #wrapper and #sidebar width, but it didn’t work. Maybe there is something related to positioning, but it’s outside my CSS knowledge.

The URL you choose/enter is not shown with your post, and is not available to us volunteers. It is just to head off the plethora of people that mistakenly post here everyday.

1. The stuff at the bottom is all under one single selector in the CSS which means you hide it all or nothing. Hide it all and then go back to #main .controls in your CSS and get rid of the “display: none;” and then the toggle will be at the top of the content area. That is about the best I have to offer you.

2. This is about a three-part process. Do you want to widen it or narrow it? What width do you want it to be? Currently it is 212px.

1. Your solution is close enough to what I was looking for. Thanks for that!

2. Yes, I should have been more clear with this. I would like to widen it to 280px.

2. Content area same width, sidebar increased by 68px to 280px, overall width of theme increased from 980px to 1046px, header stuff increased as needed.

I think I have been playing with these lines before but it seems I missed out on something.

There was actually a background image in #wrapper for the grey behind the sidebar and it was just easiest to dump that and go with a grey color that matched. That was likely what you were missing.
