Package Upgrade

  • Unknown's avatar

    Good day,

I have a site setup with WordPress and I want to upgrade to the premium package.

I would like to pay for it annually and not sure how that works.
If I upgrade is that payment fee required upfront for the year?

Also How many other sites can I create on my profile and can I have them all on their own separate domains and bill them all individually?

    Site: https://simplicitymarketing360anddesign.wordpress.com.
    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

  • Hi @simplicitymarketing360, you’d pay when you buy the plan, then we would renew at 11 months: that gives you a month to sort out any billing issues (expired card, cancellations, or upgrades for example.)

Each plan is for one site. You can have as many sites on your account as you’d like, or create separate profiles to bill individually. And bear in mind what each plan features, so you’ll know the best plan for each site:

Also, if it helps, our paid plans include SSL hosting as well as maintenance, security, and direct WordPress support. So if you were creating plans for clients, for example, you could set up the site, collect your payment, then transfer ownership to them. From there, we’d handle their billing and support questions and what not.

Hello thank you for your help.

so i think i am getting what you saying.. :)

Its better to create clients sites on their own profile instead of having it on mine which will make it easier to hand over when im done creating and setting it up for them?

If that is the case i think thats the best way moving forward, it will make it easier when it comes to helping my clients maintain their sites as well. I can log in separately do what i need to without impacting my profile.

    Is that correct?

Yes that is correct. If you have the client start the the initial site (the empty one, before you have built anything) and purchase the upgrades under their account, it will mean they are already to “owner” of their site and all upgrades.

Once the create the initial site, they can “invite” you as an administrator to do whatever work is needed. There is a guide here on how to invite admins: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/

Once the work is complete you can log out of the site (the client can even remove your access if they wish) which makes for a pretty tidy handoff.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
