Padding/Spacing & Title Issues

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello all,

I am extremely green when it comes to WP, so I apologize in advance if this is something simple/obvious.

I am having a difficult time reducing the whitespace between a page title and the content below it. I have tried to search for and use custom CSS code found on other posts, but so far non have worked. Is there a string I should put in that corrects this issue across my site or is it something I have to input for each individual page?

Also, for some pages, I do not want to the page title to appear. Is there something I can do to make certain titles of pages be hidden?

    Any/all advice is sincerely appreciated.

    Cheers!
    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

What CSS is needed to make this change will depend on the specific theme being used on your site – that whitespace is being added by the theme, and you need to use CSS that specifically overrides the CSS already present in your theme that creates that whitespace. So we’ll need to know what site you’re speaking of to help with this.

Additionally, right now you’re posting in the support forums for the web hosting provider, WordPress.com, and you don’t appear to own any sites hosted with us.

If you’re working on a WordPress site hosted somewhere else, you’re using the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org. Support for that version of WordPress is provided by the community in https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, but for this particular question you should instead contact support for your theme directly.
