What is page and what is category? How to assign new post to a category without having it on the home page?

Hi –
All of your posts are going to get published on to the designated publication page. That is set by you. It does not have to be your home page. It does not even have to be linked in to your site menu. But they need an assigned place to publish. See here:
In the post settings you can assign a category to any post. That will group it with others of the same category. Again, they’ll still be published on the post page. The categories can then be linked in to your site menu to display a group of “similar” posts in one place when a user comes to visit. Does that sound like what you want to achieve?

Thanks for your quick response. I am still having trouble. I made two recipes a category of Hispanic. When I make a menu with Hispanic, I am unable to add the posts to Hispanic. It just adds the name of the recipe.
