Page apppearance

  • Unknown's avatar

The menu item for the page (“Bio” “Blog” “Home” etc.) shows up at the top of each page. I go to my bio page and there at the top it says “Bio>” I don’t know what I changed, but I believe that it did not do that previously.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello,

When I visit your site now I see that it only says “Bio”, so it looks like you may have gone and changed it back on your own. Nice sleuthing :)

    Cheers!

Is each page supposed to start with the Tab? The Bio page starts with “Bio,” the “Clients” page starts with “Clients”, etc. It seems that at one time the pages didn’t start with the menu tab words. Am I right? And if so, how do I get rid of them? I’m not sure what your reply means. Thanks.

  • I think, perhaps, I am not looking at what you’re looking at. Would you mind providing me a link to a page where you’re seeing the strange behavior?

    Thanks!

    Hello,
Thanks for being willing to help this novice! Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:

    Poetry and Journaling

The tab is “Journaling and Poetry” and that automatically appears at the start of the page even though it doesn’t show up when I edit the page. And perhaps that’s how it is supposed to be, but I thought originally it was not that way. It might be a case of user confusion! It even says “Home” at the start of the Home page:

    http://annehbarney.com

If there is a way to have that not happen, I’d like to know. Thank you for your time!

Hi there, Anne! I took a look at the links you sent DK. Your tabs should always appear in the same order, no matter what page the user has clicked on. Otherwise, it gets very confusing for your readers.

The correct tab will be highlighted, depending which page the reader has visited. That way, they’ll always know where they are on your site.

If you don’t like the way your tabs are ordered, you can adjust them. Once you do that, they will appear in that order throughout your site.

Here are instructions on how to adjust your menu:

    Menus

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Best wishes to you.
