page attribute template has been changed and a child page cannot be created

If I add a new page, the Page Attribute menu is only offering a template and an order. It does not offer to choose a parent, therefore, I cannot make a child page. Please help.

    Hey there,

What is the URL for the website you require assistance with?

Within the Page Settings>Page Attributes section you will see a toggle for Top Level. By Untoggling this you will now have the ability to select from the available options for a Parent page.

Let me know if you have any trouble access this section and I would be more then happy to walk you through it.

    Cheers

Here is a quick link to the documentation on Parent Pages and their set up procedures: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-options/#parent-page.

Hi. Thank you for your reply, but in “Page Attribute” section, I only have “Template” and “Order”. I used to have another section where I can set a parent page and its drop down menu used to show all the first level pages. However, it’s gone. Please help. The URL is bidendesigns.net Regards, Kuniko

Hmm, that does seem a little odd. However, bidendesigns.net is actually a self-hosted WordPress.org site rather than WordPress.com.

This forum is designed to help clients hosted by WordPress.com. For more information on the difference between the two please check out this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org.

If you are in need of any further support for your self-hosted website you may be able to find an answer on the WordPress.org support page at the link provided: https://wordpress.org/support/ or as an alternative you may want to contact your hosting provider.

I would suggest posting this inquiry to the above support page and including a screenshot for reference.

    Cheers
