Page Attributes Won't Show..
-
Hey! I’ve been having trouble.. When ever I try to edit or create a new post my page attributes menu isn’t there. Yes. I am using a font that allows it. “Oxygen” Also, I checked my theme options to see if it allows it and also I read the theme description which said it allows me to create a showcase page template by going on page attributes, assigning a page to the showcase and then changing it to static page in the reading settings. The problem is that I can’t access the page attribute menu. Also, all the posts I want to showcase are sticky posted.. Image available. Please help..
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

At the top of each post and page editor (and most other pages accessible via the dashboard) there is ‘screen options’. When you’re in the edit mode of any page in a theme that uses page attributes, click on screen options and check the box for it then the module will appear.
-
Thanks! But it won’t work.. All I clicked on everything and I still don’t have that option. It doesn’t even show on the screen options. The only things that are unchecked are … Slug, Excerpt, Send Trackbacks.

Post attributes aren’t on the post editor, they’re only in the page editor. Is that where the confusion lies, I wonder?
-
Well, I’ve just tried this with Oxygen theme on my test blog and it isn’t working for me either, so I’ll modlook this for you.

“I can’t find the ‘Page Attributes’ module for my ‘Oxygen’ theme”
Oxygen Theme Description http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/ Live demo site http://oxygendemo.wordpress.com/In Oxygen you can either have a Home page that displays your posts or a static front page ie. a Showcase template.

When you first activate Oxygen, you’ll see your posts in a traditional blog format but if you’d like to showcase your content in an online magazine-like fashion, then you can use the Showcase Page template. …Sticky post thumbnails are 750 pixels wide in the featured slider
Regular post thumbnails are 450 pixels wide

To create a showcase template in Oxygen, you need to go to Pages > Add New. That’s the dashboard screen that should be displaying the Page Attributes module. If it isn’t, you click Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ while on that screen (the page editor screen): and include all the Pages and Posts modules. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules each dashboard screen has different screen options.

Uh-Oh! I seem to be having difficulty. If only a page is allowed in the showcase template, so how am I supposed to make a page sticky?
Let’s say I have 3 blog posts…. Post A Post B Post C
I want to put them all on like a showcase template.
Do I have to copy the posts into pages or is there a way to do this from the posts.?
Sorry but I’m confused again!

You are completely off track. When you make the choice to have a static front page ie. the Showcase Template then it becomes your running page for all posts.
I posted the instructions you need above. Please read them very carefully and work through them slowly because I know for a fact that they work.
-
Yes. I understand. I have tried everything. I’ve been going at it since 3 hours believe it or not.. Lol. But seriously, I want to do the showcase template. I just tried Sticky Page and what I got was not a showcase template with like the sliding pages but instead on my homepage got like my about page and the page I tried it on.

Go here and read this > In Oxygen you can either have a Home page that displays your posts or a static front page ie. a Showcase template.
Read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#setting-up-a-static-front-page -
Pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ are static and are for content that rarely changes. They sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot post to multiple pages in any blog.
There is only one main page for posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/ in a blog and all posts will display on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page.
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top.
If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
Choice 1 static front page
Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page
Which do you choose? It’s one or the other. If you choose a static front page then you have to create two pages as I said above. After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

See, I read that and it teaches me how to make a Static Front Page, but I want this….
The showcase template with the featured slider…

For that, you need to have sticky posts with featured images that are at least 750 pixels wide.
This is detailed at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/
-
Oh! I see. If I changed the size of my photos, How do I get it on to the showcase template!
-
If the featured image is at least 750 pixels wide, and the post is sticky, it will automatically appear.
