Page Automatically Reformats

  I came here with this problem twice and each time I thought it was sorted when it wasnt.

  I uses pages and not posts. When I go to edit that page (like adding a file to it) the format has all been erased and all has been blurred into one format.

  Can anyone suggest how to fix this problem? Why would it reformat without me doing anything?

  What, specifically, is changing? Unless your coding is impeccable, formatting will not hold on WP.com. Are you writing it in the HTML editor or the visual editor? Pasting from somewhere else?

  @raincoaster: Impeccable? The code for the latest post starts with a link (to a Word doc) which is invisible because there’s nothing in the name of the link. Then you get the familiar:

  Then you get things like this:

  @inearnestexpectation: The code of your page is a complete mess.

  Why not to use Word

  You should prepare your posts in a simple text editing application, then format them via the buttons available in the page editor of your blog. Or you could use Windows Live Writer. If you HAVE to paste from Word, do it via the “Paste as Plain Text” button, then format them.

  For the page you have now, you could start by highlighting the whole of it and clicking the “Remove formatting” button to get rid of some of the junk. But with so many flaws, I doubt it’ll become ok. If I were you (that is, if I didn’t know html), I would copy the text from the blog page to a simple text editing application and do it all over again.

  Ah, the infamous Word. Never, never use it, because it will always fail you, and very often screw up your entire blog in the process.
