Page crashing when tagging/categorising.

    Hi

    I’ve been using the new Block Editor since May when it was introduced, but in that time and the 15 or 16 blogs I’ve posted, I’ve had my page crash and refresh, every time, while I’ve been adding tags and categories to the post. Sometimes this has even happened with the page not properly autosaving my writing.

    I accepted it, but it reached the point where I had to switch back to the Classic Editor, given that it doesn’t crash, refresh and lose work when I’m tagging and categorising, but today I’ve found that WordPress has automatically switched me back to the Block Editor and removed the option to switch back.

    I’m happy to keep using the new editor – with it being the only option now I have no choice – but would there be any way for WordPress to fix the website and stop the page from crashing while I’m trying to finalise my post?

    That definitely doesn’t sound right.

    First, please make sure that your browser is up to date: https://browsehappy.com/

    If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

    If it is, please do these two things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

    2. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.
