Page creation overriding Cutomized Theme

I am frustrated. I am trying to create a new page. Each time that I add a new page to the website it automatically overrides my theme and shows up on my homepage along with the other pages located on my menu bar. I have experience in wordpress and am wondering if this is a glitch in my upgraded purchased template or if I am simply not doing something correct. Please do not send me a tutorial I have read through countless ones on custom menus, creating pages, ect. I will leave my wordpress site as is so that you may look and see what I am doing wrong.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hey Dr. Ski,

Could you explain to me where you want these pages to display?

Also, let me know what you want to display on your homepage instead…is it your posts?

Let me know and I can help you through the process. Your blog is behaving how you’ve set it up, but we can adjust those settings so the blog displays how you want!

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

    Thank you so much Robyn.

On my homepage I am wanting to display my featured article slideshow, my category posts widget and my sidebar widgets. I can get all of these to display until I try to add more than two pages (“Home” and “About”) to my site. Again when I try to add any page (in add page feature) in addition to my original “home” and “about” which are displayed on my menu bar, the homepage automatically turns into the a new page that displays the title of the newly added page and then under it, the titles of “Home” and “About”, thereby losing all the original content of the customized Home page that I created. If I remove this third page, all goes back to original design. Here is the link for what it looks like when I add the third page http://www.drskiphd.com.

    Hey again!

    Try this for me:

    Go to your customizer:
    https://drskiphd.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdrskiphd.wordpress.com%2F

Click on the Static Front Page menu item.

Where you see Posts page, change the setting from Home to –Select–. Then, save your change. Your home page should now appear as you built it.

If you want to have a separate page where your posts display, you need to create a new page called Posts or Blog or something along those lines. Then, go back to the Customizer/Static Front Page settings, and then choose to place your posts on Posts/Blog/Whatever you named your new page.

I hope this gets you closer to your goals. Let me know how I might help more! Thanks.
