Page deleted has Not Found …. How to delete permantently please?
-
Hello,
I thought I had deleted a home page, the page that my blog opens to when first accessed from the Net however it has the following on the screen:
Not Found
Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.
WordPress is amazing so I probably haven’t located the answer that is already provided.
Will you please let me know how I can remove it permanently and put my other Home page that has content as the ‘opening page’?
Thanks in anticipation.
Wendy

This is because your main page is set up to display your posts and you have no posts for wordpress to display, so it throws up the error.
You need to go to settings > reading and set the page you created to be your home page as the “front” page for your site. You can also set a “posts” page if you wish to have a normal blog also. If all you want is a static web site, then have a look at this support document.
