Page design

How can I center the content on my page? When I view it to edit, it’s centered. When I preview the page the content is pushed to the right side and on the left is “edit this entry” and a column of empty space below it.
I am copying and pasting .txt from an older blog, http://www.deborahgeffner.com, to form a new blog. The page is centered on the old blog.
Second question: The default theme seems to be Wu Wei. The older blog’s theme is Oxygen. How do I change the theme if I want to?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are copy-pasting, you NEED to do this to protect your blog: go to Settings->Writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and Save that setting. For a lot of reasons, this is important.
Now, as to how to change the way the content displays, you can either buy the Custom Design upgrade or you can choose a different theme, or you can wrap your content in div tags to force it to center.
You can change themes on the Dashboard Appearance->Themes page, and Oxygen is one of the themes there.

I went to to Settings->Writing and selected “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and Saved it. The page preview looks the same. Should I delete the page and start over?
Second question: I see Oxygen in the themes, but I don’t see how to make that my blog theme.
Thanks.
