Page Disappears?
-
I have made two pages “about” and “Pong University” and they show up to all my users and work fine.
I have recently tried to add a page “Feedback” and right when I Update it and reload my blog it shows up, but the second I refresh again it doesnt show up. It says I have 3 pages and under my edit pages tab they are all there. But for some reason it wont show up on my main template.
Any help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please check the visibility setting on the pages.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Blog Surfer, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/ -
All that is fine.
I click update page and refresh my blog right after its it is there, but as soon as I refresh again its gone. It makes no sense. I have no idea…

I have the same problem. Exactly. I’m an experienced wordpress.org user setting up some blogs for a class I’m teaching and this is really frustrating.

Will you please provide us with some details so we can try to help you?
1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. It sounds like there could be a problem with your ISP. Can you access any of these directly?

I am having the same issue. Everything is as it should be and the menu displays correctly for a moment. As soon as I refresh, it goes away. It looks like a number of members are having this exact same issue today. It is frustrating to see that they are all getting troubleshooted the same way when there is clearly something going on that needs wordpress resolution.

@inaflutter
Have you used the Help link on the top right hand corner of your Admin page and reported your issue to Staff yet? -
@All: Go to Appearance > Menus and make sure the blank option is selected in the Theme Locations pulldown.

Hi, I’m having exactly the same problem – I have literally tried everything and have reported to staff. However, from looking at the forums, this seems to be a common problem that has just occurred really recently (in the last hour, there have been the same reports over again) so could this be a problem wordpress is having???

@justpi
See here > http://inaflutter.wordpress.com/
I should have caught this thread and the other one too. I’m glad that you did. -

Thanks for the suggestion. However, the drop down was already blank so this is not the issue. Still, creating a custom menu is a work around allowing my pages that have been created and are visible from the admin panel to “stick” on the home screen after refreshing or navigating away from the home screen.

Well I am in a dorm. So I cant really access most of the things that have been suggested. But it looks like everyone is having this problem. So is it a wordpress problem that will be fixed?
-
@pimamedia: When you don’t link to the blog in question and don’t give the title and the URL of the page in question we can only make guesses.
@itsbarc: Maybe, but 6 users is hardly “everyone”: there are 25 million wp.com blogs. Before my first reply above, I created a new page in my test blog: no issues.

Thats the page that will be there right when I update, but as soon as I refresh it is gone. Could it be with the theme?

I’m having the exact same problem. @justpi, cannot even locate the “theme locations pulldown”. I clicked “Link Target”. Tried both selected and unselected. neither solve the issue. I also cleared cookies and cache.
order of operations:
I create the page. select “no parent” so that it will be it’s own tab (correct?).
I go to the home page, the tab is there, yay.
Click refresh, tab is gone.It appears that, while not everyone, there are several people are experiencing this same issue. I’m assuming it’s a temporary bug?

^^ same problem.
And the appearance menus I havent even touched that but my other pages have worked fine.

(I tried http vs. https. didn’t solve the problem)
https://snakehandlerrecordings.wordpress.com/
looking for the “recordings” tab under the header. which, if you type “recordings/” at the end of the url, the page exists….
