Page displaying Post in error (Anthem theme)

  I’ve just purchased the Anthem theme for my new blog – davinasirisena.com. I have 2 pages, ‘About’ and ‘Services’ and 1 post. I want to be able to navigate between the three from the menu. I have 2 problems:

  1. My ‘Services’ page is displaying my post and instead of the content of that page.
  2. I can’t work out how to add my Posts as a menu item.

  Please help! I’m new to WordPress so may well be doing things wrong.

  Hi there,

  1. My ‘Services’ page is displaying my post and instead of the content of that page.

  This is because you’ve set the Services page to display your posts under Settings > Reading, as you can see here:

  Doing this replaces the content of your Services page with all your posts. (If you had more than one post published, they would all be displaying on this page too!)

  What do you want the page where your posts will be displayed to be called? If you want it to be called “Blog,” for example, then create a dummy page and title it “Blog.” Don’t put any content on the page, because it’s just a placeholder. Then, head over to Settings > Reading and select the new Blog page from the drop-down list, and assign your posts to it, by selecting it from the Posts page menu.

  Things should work more as expected after you do that. You’ll see a “Blog” menu item appear on your site and the proper content should be displayed on your Services page.
