Page Edit Content Text Box Only Displays Font in White

When I’m trying to edit a page, the text box / area where you add content will only display what I’m typing in the font color white. This makes it very difficult to read and edit. I’ve also lost the tool box / buttons that used to be above that text box, which made it easy to edit font size, insert images, create hyperlinks and much more.
Help, how do i change the font back to black and how do I find the tool box?
