  • Hi there,

Can you please let me know your site’s address so I can point you in the right direction of getting support?

Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. If your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software you need to seek help at these forums:

    My site link is http://www.empuci.com

    I have another question though

I received this mail from WordPress customer care

    “Hi there!

I can help out with this. I checked out your site just now and it looks like the XMLRPC service on your site is not responding correctly. The WordPress app requires a service called XML-RPC on your server. Problems connecting to the XMLRPC service are commonly caused when a web hosting provider blocks XML-RPC. Please check with your hosting provider to find out if they allow XML-RPC on your site. It can also happen if there is a plugin/theme that conflicts with it. To check whether a plugin is causing the conflict with the app, try deactivating all the plugins on your self-hosted site to see whether that fixes the issue. You can find a list of known plugin conflicts here:

    http://ios.forums.wordpress.org/topic/app-blocking-plugin-list?replies=1#post-5985

However, there may be other plugins that cause problems with XML-RPC as well.

    Please what does it mean?

  • Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.

Thanks a lot for the reply but still want to clarify something … When I downloaded and signed in to the WordPress app, I was emailed a html verification code inorder to verify my account, please I want to know how to go about verifying it with the html code the emailed me since it has refused to download or view using any browser … Thank you

  • That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

But WordPress sent me the verification link since it’s a self hosted site … I was sent that link by WordPress

  • The verification code is for your WordPress.com account where you have your site connected. You’re using the Jetpack plugin which relies on WordPress.com for several features such as Stats, Publicize, Site Accelerator, and more.

However, your site is not hosted here on WordPress.com and therefore we cannot help you with your issue. For that you need to post in the official WordPress.org support forums:
