Have you logged out completely, cleared your cookies and cache, reloaded your browser and tried logging on again?

    The Cookie Dance
    step 1. log out
step 2. clear your browser cookie
step 3. clear your browser cache/temporary internet files
    step 4. close your browser
step 5. go back and test

    Force Refresh or Reload

Do you have this problem only on this site at wp.com or on others too?

This is what staff need from you:
    – your browser
    – your browser version
    – your FULL blog address (not the name, the real address that begins http:// )
    – your FULL username
    – your REAL email address that is registered here
    – and a very good description of the exact problem.

Have you tried typing your blog’s url into your browser and then logging in via your Meta widget?

  • Unknown's avatar

    this all won’t do, alas.

the only remedy in such cases is to disable JS in your browser temporarily.

    and/or disable ‘author’ style (CSS).

Thanks for coming to the rescue. :)

the only problem, I’m afraid, that could be not the easiest thing do for the folks who beleive that page can “freeze”.

so, their last chance to log into .com depends on someone, who provides them with instructions how to do that for all the browsers they may happen to use. ’tis not me. [*wicked* grin]

    Camino
    Disabling JavaScript
JavaScript is a programming language that allows websites to dynamically generate web content, interact with the user, and manipulate browser windows and their contents. Camino provides you the ability to disable only common JavaScript annoyances or the completely disable JavaScript. To prevent web pages from changing, moving, or resizing windows, simply check the box for this preference in the Web Features pane of Camino’s preferences.

If you wish to disable JavaScript entirely, remove the check mark from the box for Enable JavaScript in the Content Control section of that preference pane. Be aware that disabling JavaScript may break many websites; if a website does not work correctly, simply check the box and reload the page to try again with JavaScript enabled.

thanks ;-) no real Java on wordpress.com, though. there’s JavaScript only (four first letters is the only thing they have in common).

as an afterthought, if they can’t “Save & Continue”, disabling JS may won’t do as well… so it may be easier for them to post from the WLW (this part of code seems to be untouched for a while).

and if the WLW will give an error on publishing, then it’s something which can be fixed by the devs only.

anyway, thanks for the instructions. I guess, it may happen you might need to post ’em again.

What! First, you made me late for my date and then you say – thanks but no thanks. Sheesh! Men!

But yeah, I do get your point. I’ve got to run as I’m already late. Have a good weekend.

They will be my next blog post. And why oh why do I get the feeling you orchestrated that? lol :D

Disable javascript: Firefox menu > preferences, click on the content tab, uncheck “enable javascript” and then close the window.
