  Can I put in page sub headings?

  Custom CSS could be used to add a bit of text below the exisitng page titles, but that would require either the WordPress.com Premium or Business plan, which include the Custom Design features.

  You can add headings to the content area of your pages by using the style dropdown on Row 1 of the editor tools. See our Visual Editor support page for more information on that.
