page hierarchies

I have been trying to set up some page hierarchies on Spectrum Theme. Even though I create the parent page, and then create a sub page attached to that parent, it does not show up on a drop down menu from the parent page tab displayed at the top of my blog. Is this because it is not a tool that is available on spectrum theme?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not in its standard top nav menu. You need to create a custom one:

    Many thanks. I’ll try that.

I’ve tried what panaghiotisadam suggested and unfortunately it does not work on spectrum. It seems you can only have one custom page when you add it as a widget in the side bar, and even if you try to add pages as hierarchies to this it does not work. Really unfortunate because it means the wordpress blog is limited in terms of what I can do on it, and it looks likely I will have to look at other options (ie building my own website).

A real shame, because if I could have added sub-pages to say six main pages that could each be displayed on a navigation menu it would have saved having to build a separate website.

If anyone has any other ideas about this, I’d appreciate them.

    Hello there,
This is not about custom widgets. The directionas are for custom menus. The do work on this theme. In fact, I just set up a custom menu on Spectrum and was able to include sub-pages which do appear as dropdown tabs from parent pages when hovered over.

I believe you will need to go through the custom menu set-up process again and be sure you drag and drop the sub-pages you select under their parent pages – indented- in the custom menu you create.
