Page Jump Isn't Working
-
I’ve attempted to add a page jump from one page to another and though I followed the how-to instructions, entering an anchor and then linking to that with a hashtag, it’s simply keeping me in the same page and adding the anchor link to the URL.
Any ideas where I’m going wrong?
Thanks!

@jlgjacobs would you please send a link to the page with the page jump on it? We’ll take a look and see if we can help you resolve this.

On this page (https://jessicalgjacobs.com/poetry/), the heading “Poems from Take Me With You, Wherever You’re Going:” has the anchor “take me”.
Then on this page (https://jessicalgjacobs.com/take-me-with-you-wherever-youre-going/), I attempted to link “Read a selection of poems from this book” with #takeme and it just results in the anchor being added to the URL instead of jumping to the anchored section on the other page.
Thanks for your help with this!

On https://jessicalgjacobs.com/take-me-with-you-wherever-youre-going/ you’ve linked “Read a selection of poems from this book” to just
#takemewhich would be https://jessicalgjacobs.com/take-me-with-you-wherever-youre-going/#takemeInstead, you should link it to https://jessicalgjacobs.com/poetry/#takeme

Thanks! That got me to the right general vicinity. Not to be greedy, but the screen focuses below the jump heading. Is there a way to arrange this so the heading is at the top of the screen jumped to?

Unfortunately not – this is something that’s controlled by your browser itself and most browsers jump to the next line below the
idtag. You can try inserting an empty
divhtml tag above the heading, and adding theidattribute to that instead of to the heading itself, but I’ve tried that before and had mixed results.
