page jump links don't work

  I’ trying to add page jumps to a post on my “Consulting” page. I’ve followed the directions from the FAQ (http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/), but they don’t work. I only see the html on the blog page, not links. The quote marks around the identifier show up “curly” and point in the wrong direction. I think that’s the problem. Is there some way to specify “straight” quotes? Any other ideas as to what’s wrong?

  You probably wrote or pasted that in the Visual instead of the HTML editor.
