Page just listing posts

  Hello there.

  I’m new to WordPress. I’m creating a site mainly consisting of pages, but there will be a few news articles every now and then.

  WHat I would like is the Home page to be a welcome page, and then I’d like to create a news page which lists the posts on the page.

  How can I stop the default Home page on the nav menu from displaying the posts, and instead create a new page that does this instead?
